            Teamster (Updated May 2009)
             
            Construction teamsters work in the construction building industry. This includes dirt work for new roads and rebuilding of existing roads. Our mission at the Joint Council No. 25 Training Fund is to provide job skills training for teamsters in the construction industry. Students learn to work in a safe and productive manner. Upon completion of classes, graduates will enter the workforce fully prepared to accomplish the tasks for which they are hired. 
			 
			Length of Apprenticeship:
			 
			Four (4) years. 
			 
			Apprentices must attend classroom instruction. 
			Apprentices also receive on-the-job training with employers.
			 
			Wage Information:
			 
			First year: 60% of journeyman wage 
			Second year: 70% of journeyman wage 
			Third year: 80% of journeyman wage 
			Fourth year: 90% of journeyman wage

			Basic Requirements:
			 
			Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. 
			Applicants must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. 
			Applicants must pass DOT physical. 
			Applicant must pass drug test. 
			Appliance must possess a valid drivers license. 
			Applicant must have a clean driving record for the last 2 years. 
			Applicant must pass a written test and oral review.
			 
			Working Conditions:
			 
			Teamsters work in all types of weather conditions, traffic conditions and hazardous elements where proper safety training is key.
